Daryl A. Ellis, MD


Dr. Ellis is currently the owner and medical director of Phenix Medical Ministry in Phenix City Alabama. His responsibilities include implementation of the initial business plan, practice budgeting, implementation of patient treatment protocols, quality assurance of chart and record keeping, practice marketing and community relations contacts, maintaining clinical staff performance reviews and certifications, and supervision of all clinical staff activities including direct patient care.

 

From 1979 to 1984 Dr. Ellis received experience from the USCD department of biology in Lajolla California. His duties included laboratory assistant, preparation of culture media, growth of B. cereus spores and data entry.

 

From 1994 to 2000, Dr. Ellis worked with Columbus Regional Healthcare in Columbus, Georgia where he was responsible for a four family practice group, diagnosis and treatment of patients in a wide patient age group. He was also responsible for both inpatient and outpatient care.

 

From 1994 to 1999, Dr. Ellis was employed as Medical Director of Phenix City Healthcare. His duties included, diagnosis and treatment of multiple geriatric medical  problems, the review and revision of various patient treatment protocols and patient care quality assurance.

 

As Medical Director at Chattahoochee Valley Community College in  Phenix City, AL from 1994 to 1999, Dr. Ellis was responsible for the training and evaluation of basic and intermediate level Emergence Medical Technicians.

 

From 11/00 to 1/01, Dr. Ellis worked for American Family Care and was responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of pediatric and adult medical conditions in an urgent care setting. 

 

From 2001 to  2002,  Dr. Ellis worked at the Phenix Regional Hospital in Phenix City Alabama where he was responsible for diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical and traumatic injuries in and Emergency Department setting.          

 

Dr Ellis’s experience as a volunteer is as follows ; from 1997 to 1998 he was Chief of Medicine at Phenix Regional Hospital, from 1998 to 2000 he was part of Columbus Regional Healthcare Ambulatory Board of Directors,  from 1999 to 2000 he was on the Board of Directors with the East Alabama AIDS Outreach Program, and from 1998 to 2000  he was on the Board of Directors with the Russell County Sickle Cell Association
