Pontchartrain Express, Inc. Road Transportation

Express Shuttle for the South Shore

Destination Management, Inc. will provide the commuter transport on the South Shore to and from the landing in the West End Canal area of New Orleans. Upon arrival to the South Shore landing, passengers will disembark to the shuttle which best suits their needs. Shuttle ride length will vary depending on specific route, traffic and weather conditions.

The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) provides bus services from the West End Landing to Canal Boulevard, where a commuter can make transfers to just about any place in the city, including the Street Car stops, and fares are very economical. RTA also operates the "Lil Easy" shuttle in the Lakeview area, which includes routes from the West End to UNO. Taxi service is also an option for all passengers.

Express Shuttle for the North Shore

The North Shore Express Shuttle will pick up and drop off passengers to the Pontchartrain Express location in Mandeville at 200 Massena Street.

There is a very economically priced, government subsidized bus service on the North Shore provided by "GoSTAT". Passengers that wish to use this service are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the ferry directly with "GoSTAT". Taxi service is also an option for all passengers of Pontchartrain Express.

Fares

According to Destination Management, Inc., $5/person ($10/person round-trip) is the number they would have to set to most locations. The Airport Shuttle, Route D, will be more in line with similar Airport transportation.

Special Events

Destination Management, Inc. has a long and successful history in organizing and executing private tours and event transportation. Destination Management, Inc. in collaboration with Pontchartrain Express will organize bus/boat tours such as river cruises, festival transport, sporting event transport, corporate outings & events, weddings, school field trips, sight-seeing tours, cruise ship passenger transfers from the South Shore ferry landing, meetings and other private parties.
